Al Ain American Private School promotes good diet with Healthy Lifestyle Campaign

Staff Report

Al Ain American Private School (AAAS), in collaboration with Al Ain Rotana hotel, recently held a campaign aimed at spreading awareness about healthy living and having a clean diet.

One of the events of the campaign was a competition called AAAS ‘Top Chef’ where students competed to make a healthy and tasty dish and were judged by the chefs of Al Ain Rotana.

“A healthy lifestyle not only changes your body, it changes your mind, your attitude and your mood to perform better,” said Dr Wilfred Bock, Principal at AAAS.

Students from grades four to seven took part in the competition by sending in their audition videos and based on that, fourteen students were chosen for the final round. The three winners of the face-off were Suhail Omar, Hamad Ali, and Abdullah Issa standing at first, second and third position respectively.

The same procedure was followed for the teachers and the first, second and third winners were Nisreen Abd Al- Rahim, Brigitte Celeste, and Ruba Shaheed respectively.

“One of the motives of the competition was to send out the message that healthy foods can be delicious too and I am hopeful that our students take this forward on a larger scale by spreading awareness within their own community,” said Ruba Shadeed, Vice Principal at AAAS.

The sponsors of the competition were Al Ain Rotana and Monroe Cafe who provided all the items for the pantry set-up.
