New gaming app allows fans to step into the world of Harry Potter

1997 saw the release of a then- unassuming fantasy novel featuring a young bespectacled boy with a lightning scar on his forehead, trying to fnd his way through the winding halls of magical Hogwarts.

A little over two decades have passed since the explosion of the phenomenal Harry Potter franchise and fans can now fnally experience what it feels like to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry through the launch of a new gaming app, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

Created by games studio Jam City, the app is the frst launch from Portkey Games, the new games label launched by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment. It allows you to create your own avatar and control your narrative as you engage with the wizarding world.

Players get to attend classes, play Quidditch, enrage (or avoid) the infamous Severus Snape and just simply have a good time. Your character, though, comes with their own mysterious background, adding a suspenseful twist to this interactive play.

The game has not been written by JK Rowling herself but still emulates the Hogwarts experience you've always wanted.

As you play, you'll also hear the familiar voices of your beloved Professors as Dame Maggie Smith reprises her role as Professor McGonagall, while Michael Gambon returns as Professor Dumbledore. Gemma Jones is back as Madam Pomfrey, Sally Mortemore as Madam Pince, Zoe Wanamaker as Madam Hooch, and Warwick Davis as Professor Flitwick.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is now available on the App Store as well as Google Play. For more information, visit harrypotterhogwartsmystery.com
