Blogger Of The Month: Fashionably Forward

A former model and beauty consultant, a sought after fashion and beauty blogger and most importantly a mother, Dubai based Diana Chipar flaunts many hats. In conversation with Delilah Rodrigues, this yummy mummy spills the beans on work, motherhood and a lot more…

Tell us a little about yourself…

I am a Moldavian/Romanian girl. I had great ambitions when I moved to Dubai, all on my won at the young age of 20. I have been living in the UAE for 12 years now. For the first 10 years, I worked as a model and wardrobe stylist and for the past 2 years have been blogging about fashion. I also married my soul mate and we are now parents to a gorgeous little girl who we named Aliya.

What inspired you to become a blogger?

Since I was in the fashion industry for more than a decade, I decided to start taking my own pictures the way I visualized the models, this is how blogging which was initially a hobby turned into a career.

How would you describe your style?

My style is quirky elegant. I love my long dresses and gowns, but at the same time I like to layer different pieces together to make my outfit stand out.

Fashion tips for our readers?

Buy smart. Always buy pieces made from natural fabrics and good quality which will last long (remember fashion always makes a comeback). Never indulge in excessive shopping, especially at fast fashion outlets. Fashion is an investment not a reason to spend money buying meaningless pieces which will rip after two washes.

Your take on motherhood?

Being a mother is life changing. I gained new respect for all the women and mothers out there. Who ever said you need a village to raise a child was absolutely right. Once you have all the support you need, being a mom is the best thing ever.

How do you balance being a mom and working?

After 14 months, I finally got the courage to look for someone to help me with Aliya. I got lucky to find a woman who is beautiful inside out and is always there for us. Shooting comes naturally to me, so I don’t consider it as work anymore. When Aliya was little it was difficult to manage as she was always with me, even when I was shooting and I shoot my content alone.
